First Blog!!

First blog yayaya! Well I was overwhelmed with the questions,  it was hard to pick just one!  But the question that will be my first blog topic is, "I want to have a relationship with God but I don't know how to, or where to start, can you help me?" I think the first step is  getting to know God, by reading his word.  Think about it, when you want to get to know someone you want to hang out with them a lot, and want to spend your time with them right?  With God I have learned my relationship started out by reading stories, I would start from the book of Matthew. You can hear amazing stories of how Jesus performed miracles, lead his disciples, learn about faith and much more.  My favorite story from Matthew is prob, Matthew chapter four, when Jesus was tempted by satan.  Jesus was human he could have made mistakes if he wanted to, let human nature grab a hold of his heart but Jesus was faithful to God, and his people.  He knew in order to save us, he would have to die for our sins.  In chapter four of Matthew,  Jesus is led by a spirit into the desert to be tempted by the Devil.  He fasted for forty days and forty nights, and was very hungry.  Satan tested Jesus by even using scriptures, In Matthew 4:5-7 It says, Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, throw yourself down.  For it is written: "He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone." 7 Jesus answered him, It is also written : Do not put the Lord your God to the test".  It's amazing How Jesus loved us so much that even when Satan tempted him and used God's word with him,  he was strong and knew God had a plan for him and even Satan and temptation would not come overcome him.  My best advice to you is to get to know the word, pray, and get with other Christians, you can't do this on your own. Hebrews  10:24-25 says, And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more so as you see the day approaching.  Being a Christina does not mean your going to be perfect, we're huaman so we're going to make mistakes, but through God's word you will find answers and peace :)jazzy:)
